Catherine Oliver was appointed as the Domestic Relations Hearing Officer/Domestic Violence
Special Commissioner in September, 2013.
Prior to her appointment, she practiced family law in Taos for 18 years. While in private practice, Commissioner Oliver was board certified as a family law specialist. While maintaining a litigation practice, she received extensive training in collaborative law. She has served as a board member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of New Mexico and of the Board of Legal Specialization. She is presently a member of the Domestic Relations Rules Committee of the New Mexico Supreme Court and a hearing committee member for the Disciplinary Board.
Commissioner Oliver is a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma; she received a B.A. from the University of Oklahoma, an M.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and her J.D. from the University of New Mexico. She has lived in Taos for 36 years.
